I was born into the crush and noise of an Italian-American family in Buffalo, New York. With a graduate degree in Creative Writing, I spent my twenties writing poems and stories, supporting myself working as a psychiatric aid at Johns Hopkins Hospital, then picking apples for a season, working as a construction laborer, and reviewing books for the Baltimore Sun. In my late twenties I turned to photography and found my career. I spent the next decades freelancing as a photographer, and later as a video producer creating hundreds of videos for non-profits. At the heart of my photographic work is the search for intensity, beauty, complexity.
